Overview:
Outdoor education is a respected and recognized addition to any school’s curriculum. A crucial element why schools include international travel in outdoor education programmes is to place students in new environments that allow them to critically assess their role in creating a better global citizenry.

Travel programmes should therefore offer a range of activities that are:
· Recreational to change the way people feel. The purpose is leisure, fun and enjoyment, e.g., kayaking for pleasure.
· Educational to change the way people feel and think. The purpose is to learn skills and/or information, e.g., learning how to kayak classes or geography field trips.
· Developmental to change way people feel, think and behave. The purpose is to undergo personal growth, e.g., an orienteering program in which the goal was to push personal limits, test endurance, develop personal goal setting, self-discipline, and build individual's self-esteem, etc.
Within any educational travel programme some important goals must be met, including:
· Physical goals include physical fitness, weight loss, balanced dietary intake, physical movement and physical and health well-being.
· Spiritual goals to help development of spiritual knowledge and experience.
· Relationship goals to change the way a particular group or community are functioning (as opposed to individual). Team productivity and school climate are examples.
· Environmental goals for a positive attitude and improved knowledge on their individual and collective impact on a specific ecosystem.
Each school is unique, and so too are each of our outdoor education programmes. To ensure you get the right combination of activities for your students our team of experienced teachers and travel experts are ready to assist.
